Mondial du Fromage 2017

The third edition of Mondial du Fromage, an international competition of cheesemongers and producers wrapped up this week in Tours, France. This 3 day event celebrates the international culture of cheese and the dairy industry through a trade show, a cheesemonger competition, as well as a cheesemaking competition featuring 650 cheeses from around the world. In addition, this year a tasting event for the general public was offered featuring a 40 meter long table covered in hundreds of cheeses for tasting. Cheesemongers and makers from all over the world flock to this event to put their knowledge and skills to the test in order to achieve glory!

This years cheesemonger podium featured a never before seen American member! Nadjeeb Chouaf, of Flora Artisanal Cheese in Charlottesville, Virginia, took home the bronze medal! Christophe Gonzalez of Laurent Dubois in Paris placed second, and Belgium’s Nathalie Vanhaver of Callebaut Kaasmeesters in Oudenaarde rounded out the podium with a first place finish! We would like to extend a congratulations to these fabulous mongers on all of their hard work!

This amazing event organized by Rodolphe Le Meunier, Tours Événements, SO Cheese, among other partners and sponsors brings together cheese professionals and lovers from all over the world and helps unite and promote the industry.
