Slow Food Nations: Denver 2017

Starting July 14th, Slow Food USA will be hosting Slow Food Nations in Denver, Colorado. Slow Food Nations is a food festival full of presentations, tastings, and workshops, bringing together producers and consumers from all over the world. We have compiled all the cheesiest events into this blog!

Saturday July 15th:

“A Biodelicious Future, The Joys of Slow Food: Natural Cheesemaking with David Asher”

Learn some of the basics of traditional cheesemaking, both fresh and aged! Tickets are $52 per person.

“A Biodelicious Future: Can Your Brain Taste the Difference?”

Join THIMUS for a talk on the sensory and neuroscientific analysis on how the brain reacts to natural ingredients and industrially-produced ingredients, specifically in Tombea, a mountain cheese from Brescia, Italy. This event is free.

“The Joys of Slow Food: Whiskey Meets Cheese”

Join Laws Whiskey House for a discussion of various styles of cheese and whiskey pairings. Tickets for this event are $52 per person. Sponsored by Cheese Coalition Members: Whole Foods Market!

“The Joys of Slow Food: How to Taste, Pair and Celebrate Cheese”

Cathy Strange and Cheese Coalition Member: Whole Foods Market will offer this free class on how to taste and pair cheeses.

“The Joys of Slow Food: The Mile-High Marriage of Beer and Cheese”

Learn about the flavor notes and combinations that create beautiful pairings of craft beers and cheeses made in Colorado. Tickets for this event are $52 per person.

“Flavors of the World, The Joys of Slow Food: American Charcuterie and Salumi Tasting”

Jeff Roberts for a blind tasting of a collection cured meats, cheeses, and local craft beers. Tickets are $52 per person.

-4:30 PM – 6:00 PM

“Love the Earth, The Joys of Slow Food: Slow Picnicking: Soaking up Summer with Natural Wine and Cheese”

Learn about the process behind natural wines while tasting 8 cheese and wine pairings. Tickets are $52 per person.

Sunday July 16:

“A Biodelicious Future, The Joys of Slow Food: The Art and Science of Cheesemaking”

“The Joys of Slow Food: Everything You Wanted to Know About Cheese”

“The Joys of Slow Food: Race to the Perfect Cheese Board”

Learn how to assemble and curate the perfect cheese board with John Greeley. After the discussion, attendees will be teamed up and challenged to build a better board than the other teams! Tickets are $52 per person.
